Hunting Lila by Sarah Alderson

Hunting Lila

Jeez, okay, umm...what can I say? Hunting Lila didn't really catch my attention. I saw the cover, checked out the summary and left it alone. But then my friend read it and she apparently liked it. Being the person that I am, I partially ignore her, and continued on with my life of books.

Then came May 23, 2013. I was soo bored. I had no idea what to read because I'd already read so much. Then my eyes drifted over to Hunting Lila which was hidden in my library.
I had no choice but to give it a try. Mostly because when I read the summary again, I read how she loves her brothers best friend and I'm a sucker for those type of stories.
Any who, I started it and I was honestly intrigued at first. Especially with the secrets. I don't know why, but when the main character keeps secrets, I love it. Heck, I love it when they spill their secrets too! But Lila was different. Lila would pretty much be your typical girl with no friends. Except she's not normal and she knows it.

The very first chapter pretty much gets to the point. She's mugged, does something drastic with her non-normal-ness, and flees to her brother without telling anyone. Then begins the part where I despise Lila. I hated how weak she appeared to me, and how girly and lovesick she was. There was one thing I love though: she kept running away. I mean, she never got far, but she ran. And things like that also spike my interest.

So, let me introduce you to THE GUY. Our hottie, and her brothers best friend, is named Alex. He is pure, butt-kicking sexiness. I liked Alex. A lot. But did it ever get to the point where I totally love him? No. I admired his protectiveness and possessiveness but no. Just no.
And instead of falling for Alex, I fell for Lila's brother!! Jack is Lila's brother and I fell in love with him. He was smart, sexy, and a fighter. He was also protective. Gosh, he was amazing.
So, I don't know if it's just me, but I can't say much for this book.
The ending was pathetically dramatic. And I don't believe I'll be moving on to the next book. If by some miracle, I do read the next book, it'll just be for Jack. ;)

I gave this book 3 stars! Check out my review on Goodreads if you please: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/622924493
